Lyle James Martin, 64, of 4600 Allentown Road died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at Pekin Hospital.
Born June 24, 1933, in South Pekin to Nelson and Ada Marie Gray Martin, he married Doris Mae Fischer on Nov. 11, 1956, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Paul of Bradenton, Fla.; AND six sisters, Phillis Ales of Colfax, Carol Vetter of Pekin, Mrs. Fred (Helen "Betty") Wing of Creve Coeur, Mrs. Noel (Nancy) Kerr of Washington, Donna Edwards of Bloomington and Jody Friend of Peoria. His parents, his stepfather, Nelson Beebe, who helped raise him, and one brother preceded him in death.
He was a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He was a truck driver for Caterpillar Inc. for 31 years.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
