Oliver Cromwell "O.C." McLane, Jr., 94, formerly of Seneca, husband of the late Edna Boggs McLane, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson.
Born in Hart County, GA, he was the son of the late Oliver and Ellen Bryant McLane and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Cattlemen's Association and also of the Auctioneers Association for Oconee County, having served for over 40 years. Mr. McLane was a member of Seneca Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Luther, Richard, and Jack McLane all of Seneca; daughters, Patricia "Pat" White of Anderson, and Brenda Rackley of Marysville, Ohio; brother, Hailey "H.I." McLane of Easley; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Evoid and J.C. McLane; and sisters, Lottie White, Cathryn Kell, Flora McClain, Doris Snellgrove and Evelyn Kelly.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2011 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM, Friday, August 12, 2011 at Sandifer Funeral Home. The family is at their respective homes.
