Born Ole Johnsen Fladvad on Wednesday, 26 October 1870 at Fladvad Farm: Utigard in Sunndal, Møre og Romsdal County in Norway, the son of John Olsen Fladvad (1839-1902) and Marit Eriksdatter Gjøra (1844-1935), he was christened at Romfo Kirke on Sunday, 27 November 1870. Ole emigrated to America in 1888 and used the name: William John Fladwed and he settled in Lake City, Wabasha County, Minnesota. He was married to Luella V Beatty (1878-1967) on Thursday, 20 November 1902 in Lake City. No children. He fell ill of typhoid fever the week before Christmas 1906 and died in Colorado Springs on Sunday, 23 December. He was laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery in Lake City.
