Marit Jonsdatter Fladvad was born on Tuesday, 4 May 1869 at Fladvad Farm: Utigard in Sunndal, Møre og Romsdal County, Norway, the daughter of John (Jon) Olsen Fladvad (1839-1902) and Marit Eriksdatter Gjøra (1844-1935), and she was christened at Romfo Kirke on Sunday, 30 May 1869. She was married to Ingebrigt Olsen Wennevold (1858-1948), the son of Ole Olsen Wennevold (Vinjevoll) (1827-1911) of Vinjevoll Farm: Ne'gard in Sunndal, at Hov Kirke on 1 July 1890 and they had two daughters: Anne Ingebrigtsdatter (Wennevold) Hoås (1893-1976) and Magda (Wennevold) Andersen (1896-1985). Marit died on Friday, 24 August 1900 and she was laid to rest on Sunday, 2 September at Løykja Cemetery in Sunndal, Møre og Romsdal, Norway.
