Samuel Arnold was born c. 1670 in Haddam, CT the son of Joseph Arnold and grandson of John Arnold. He married 1st Sarah ?Cone c. 1703 who died c. 1714 and 2nd to Abigail Buck c. 1715. He and 1st wife Sarah joined the 1st Church in East Haddam on 27 March 1709. He died on 20 March 1739 [town record] and had to be interred in the Old Cove but no stone exists.
