Ethel Rolena Rutherford of Pace, Florida went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at the age of 87, leaving behind a family who loved and cherished her dearly.
She will always be remembered for being a loving mother who was full of immense kindness and always willing to help anyone. She found great joy in taking care of her family and neighbors, her animals, and her flowers and plants.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Edward "Hacky" Rutherford; her parents, William Noah and Ethel Rolena Cook; sister, Gladys Kelley; brothers, Marvin Cook, Kenneth Cook, Curtis Cook, and William "Bud" Cook; son, Arthur Dennis Rutherford; granddaughter, Debra Elaine Cotton; grandson, Kevin Rutherford; great-granddaughter, Sierra Engeln; and great-grandson, Joshua Rutherford.
Ethel is survived by her sons, Jimmie Rutherford, Seaborn (Sylvia) Rutherford, Earl Rutherford, Alton (Karen) Rutherford and Steve (Teresa) Rutherford of Pace; daughters, Joyce (Frank) Kolb of Pace and Audrey (Lamar) Brown of Andalusia, Alabama; 20 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Alvin Kolb and Rev. Larry Pearson officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery, Chumuckla, Florida. Ethel's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
