Henrietta "Kett" Aguilar, 92, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Danville surrounded by her family. Kett was born to Samuel and Laura Aguilar in Richmond, CA on Aug. 29, 1924 and grew up there with her two sisters, Marcelena and Esther Aguilar. She supported the war effort as a welder at the Richmond Ship Yards in 1944 before relocating to Martinez, CA where she married Leonard Filomeo Sr. and had two children, Leonard Jr. and Janet. Kett had a career working for AT&T from 1948 to 1983 and was active in the Martinez community as a member of the Martinez Lioness Club and the Martinez Senior Center. She attended St. Catherine's of Siena Parish and volunteered with their Loaves and Fishes program. Kett was passionate about cultivating camellias in her flower garden and enjoyed regular walks around the Martinez Marina, organizing family vacations to Lake Tahoe, picnics at Rankin Park and taking the family to theatrical plays in San Francisco. She is survived by her son Leonard Filomeo Jr; daughter Janet Filomeo Dowling; son-in-law Matthew Dowling, her nieces and nephews and their children. She was a mother, an aunt and our best friend.
Friends and Family are invited to the visitation on Wednesday March 29th from 3~8 with Rosary at 7:00 At Connolly & Taylor Chapel .Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 30th at 10:30 AM At Saint Catherine Siena Catholic Church in Martinez followed by interment at Queen of heaven cemetery.
