Eslie was on the Dawes Commission Choctaw Rolls #16019 (reinstatement rolls). She came with her family when she was 9 in Sept. 1892 from Groveton/Pennington, Trinity Co. TX to Marlow, OK. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She made clothes for all her family & cooked even when she was a young girl. She met Jon Adams in about 1903 when he came to OK. He got off the train in Duncan (from California, where he had gone from Mississippi). He asked about a teaching job & was referred to Burrell McLendon, who was the school board president at Payne School which was north and east of Duncan. He lived with the McLendon family as the school teacher. Burrell McClendon was married to Cornelia (Neely) Barron, who was Eslie's aunt (Fannie Barron Jones' sister). Also, Winburn Jones (her father) and Burrell McLendon were first cousins. She met Jon when she visited with her aunt's family. They corresponded by mail for about a year before they married on 12/28/1904. These original letters are with Carol Stewart (Eslie's granddaughter), to the best of my knowledge. They had 10 children. In addition to those shown on her memorial page, there were:Rex F. Adams - 17799398Brit B.
