SHAW - Funeral service for Will D. Ferriss, Jr., 57, of Cleveland, were at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Thwealt-King Funeral Home of Cleveland with the Rev. Dr. Wilson Benton, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, officiating.

Burial was to follow in the Shaw Cemetery.

Mr. Ferriss died Wednesday night in the Veterans Hospital in Jackson after a long illness. He was born in Shaw and lived there until 1962 when he moved to Cleveland. He also lived in Greenville for several years. He was an auto salesman in Shaw, Cleveland and Greenville.

Mr. Ferriss was a graduate of Millsaps College and member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a former member of the Shaw Rotary Club and was a deacon of the Shaw Presbyterian Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Jane "Toni" Ferriss of Cleveland; one son, W. Douglas Ferriss III of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Tommy Terrell of Natchez; his mother, Mrs. L.M. Ferriss of Shaw; one brother, David M. "Boo" Ferris" of Cleveland; one sister, Mrs. Henry Lee Parker of Metairie, La.; and two grandchildren.
