Robert Allen Handley
Robert “Bob” Handley, age 83 of Gainesville, FL, died peacefully in his home on March 29th surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio, and moved to Florida at the age of seventeen. He was a graduate of The University Of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clark and Edna Handley of Eaton, Ohio, Sister Leona, and Brothers Lowell and Don.
Robert was employed by the City of Deland working as the City Engineer and Water Director for 24 years. While living in Deland, he was a member of Stetson Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. In 2005, he moved to Gainesville, where he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He was survived by his loving wife, June and his Son Craig, his wife Linda, and Daughter Kimberly. Also, his grandchildren, Jennifer Martin, Jenna McMicken her husband Dan, Craig, Joshua, George, Jeremiah, James, and Jonathan; Great grandchildren, Samuel and Lily McMicken. Also, his sister-in law Janice Handley, of Hilliard, Ohio, and his 7 nieces and 2 nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31st at 1pm at Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights, FL. Burial will be at DeLand Memorial Gardens .Online condolences may be made at www.allensummerhill.com. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home DeLand is in charge.
