Funeral services for Ione Ellis, 86, of Dowelltown,were held Sept. 21 at Dekalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Junior Hibdon and Bro. Michael Hale officiated with burial in Dekalb Cemetery.
Ms. Ellis passed away Sept. 18 at Dekalb Community Hospital. She worked housekeeping at Dekalb Hospital and was affiliated with Pisgah United Methodist Church.
She was prededed in death by her parents, Claude and Callie Bain Hendrixson, a daughter, Rhea Nell Spencer, and a brother,Chester Hendrixson.
Survivors include her children, Walteen Billings, of Smithville, and Wanda Burchfield, of Old Hickory, grandchildren, Ricky Mathis of Smithville, Vickie (Paul) Cothern, of Lebanon, Stacey (Lori) Burchfield, of Dowelltown, Scott (April) Spencer, of Goodlettsville, and Katina (Samuel) Sliger, of Smithville: great-grandchildren, Ashley(Phillip) Redmon,Tiffany Burrchfield, leah Burchfield, Layne Mathis, Samantha Cothern, Rachael Cothern,Christian Spencer,and Ellis Spencer: great-great-grandchildren, Hannah Redmon, Hailey Redmon, Caylee Redmon and Kenzie South.
Pallbears included Clifton Hendrixson, Terry Hendrixson,Barry Hendrixson,Phillip Redmon,Paul Cothern, and Samuel Sliger.
Dekalb Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
