Joe Mark Russell was born May 25th 1953 in Durant Oklahoma to Jola Faye and Paul Vernon Russell. He passed away March 27, 2017 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 2 days.

Joe Mark, as he was often called by family members, was raised jointly by his parents and his beloved and always highly regarded grandparents: Grandmother, Bertie Walton, which he called “Momma Bertie” and Grandfather, Leslie A. (Jack) Walton which he called “Daddy Jack.”

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, special aunts & uncles, a sister Charlette Russell and brother Timothy Russell.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Russell of Sayre, His children; Jenny Hebensperger and husband Nick of Lawton OK. Misty Callahan and husband Jeremy of Hobart. Coby Callahan and Richard Badger of Tulsa OK. Char Silk and husband Jake of Sayre OK. His grandchildren, Dreyton Callahan, Alexia Callahan, Hayden Hebensperger, Jacob Silk, Joshua Silk, and Jace Silk. Special aunts, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of other family and friends.

Joe married Rhonda Lee York on April 7th 1983 making official the start of their everlasting love story.

Joe had done a number of things throughout his life. He served in the United States Military, worked in the oil & gas industry for years, farmed and raised cattle, ran Farmer’s Co-ops in Delhi OK, Hobart, OK, Wellington TX, and Mangum OK. He currently worked very hard at managing and keeping up his rental properties in Sayre and his hobby of restoring furniture for their former store – The Shed.

Joe was a treasured husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He never met a stranger. No matter where you went or who he was around he wanted to say hello and talk. You could always count on him to be there when needed – day or night. He was always there to lend a helping hand and give advice. He had a great sense of humor. He loved to laugh (especially at his own jokes and pranks).

He will be greatly missed and the memories of him forever cherished.
