AMAZONIA, Mo. Jerry lost his courageous battle with cancer on March 10, 2017, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 37. He was a 1997 Savannah High School graduate and a resident of rural Amazonia.
On June 1, 2013, he married the love of his life, Kimberly Strueby. The goofy, fun love they shared made everyone around them happy.
Jerry worked as a Track Inspection Manager for BNSF Railroads and as a bartender and bouncer. He was a hard worker and despite being advised to go on disability, he continued to work hard while sick to provide for his family.
Jerry could fix anything. If not, he could Jerry rig it! He had a razor sharp mind and enjoyed solving puzzles, playing games, riding horses and motorcycles, cheering for the Chiefs, boating and camping with family. He loved helping others and made friends with everyone he met.
His beloved wife, Kim, survives him along with: children, Brittany, Eliza, Kaylin, Kolton and Kevin.
Brittany inherited his adorable dimples, and they enjoyed many special motorcycle rides together. Baby Eliza was a surprise blessing from God, who brought much joy to the last year of his life.
Other survivors include: parents, Larry and Karen; sister, Jenny Miller (David); brothers, Michael (Jenna); and twins, Bryan and Ryan; grandma, Alice; wonderful in-laws, multiple cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to count.
Jerry was a Christian and attended Amazonia United Methodist Church.
