Willie Hugh Bridges, 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

Born August 23, 1929 in Spartanburg, SC, son of Broadus Randolph Bridges (1890–1962) and Sally "Sadie" Jackson Silvers Bridges (1890–1956).

After a career in the textile Industries, he retired from Hoechst Fibers and continued to work in Security for many years. His passion in life was his church. He served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and worked with the truck driver ministries.

Survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Anna Stockton Bridges; one son, Joseph Bridges; daughter, Jeannie Lewis (David), Pat Vaughn (Lou), Wendy Pinkney (Michael); ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his son, Robert Carroll Bridges (1949–2013).

The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017, at River Hills Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Smith officiating. Interment was at Westwood Memorial Park.

The family received friends from 2:00-2:45 PM prior to the service.

The family requested that memorials be made to River Hills Baptist Church, Moore, SC.
