Paul C. Douglas, 96 years of the Locust Grove Community of Peebles, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019, at the Monarch Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Paul was born in Peebles, Ohio, on May 20, 1922, the son of the late Harry and Mabel (Tener) Douglas. After serving in the United States Army during World War II and fighting in the Battle of Normandy, Paul returned to Peebles to work as a farmer. Paul attended the Conaway Chapel Church.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Tener Douglas. He is survived by his wife Jean (West) Douglas, whom he married on April 30, 1949. Paul is also survived by three sons, Steve (Sandy) Douglas of Peebles, Dave (Deb) Douglas of Wellston, and Roger (Debbie) Douglas of Peebles; and two daughters, Susan (Kenny) Smith of Piketon and Carol Ann (Ronnie) Anderson of Peebles. Paul’s loss will be mourned by his eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles. The ceremony will be officiated by Greg Seaman. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery in Peebles, where the Adams County Honor Guard will provide military graveside services.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
