Retired Penelec Official Dies
John J. Clark, 85, formerly of Altoona, died following an extended illness at 4 a.m. today, July 11, 1978, in the Homewood Retirement Center, Martinsburg.
Mr. Clark retired as Superintendent of the Eastern District of the Pennsylvania Electric Co. in 1957 after 46 years' service. He was also a member of the Omega Club.
He was born April 22, 1893, in Poplar Run, a son of Augustin and Margaret (MacIntosh) Clark, and in 1920 in Altoona married Ruth Curry, who died in 1972. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Joseph Smith of Martinsburg, Mrs. Larry Anderson of Columbus, Ohio, and John J. Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis.; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Thomas George of Newry. Mr. Clark was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Haller Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.

CLARK--The funeral of John J. Clark, formerly of Altoona, will be held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, by the Rev. Clark George. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Haller Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.
