Sandra Annette Cornelius Assenmacher, 72, of Abilene, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. Services are scheduled for 10:00AM, Monday, March 27, 2017 in the North Park Assembly of God with Pastor John Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in Zephyr Cemetery, Zephyr, Texas, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00PM, Sunday, March 26, 2017 in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St.

Ms. Assenmacher was born March 31, 1944 in Brownwood, Texas to Elton and Cledah (Beckham) Cornelius. She married Louis G. Assenmacher in 1965. She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Audiology Department of the Texas State Supported Living Center where she retired. She loved her grandkids and attended many of their school and athletic functions. She was also a member of the North Park Assembly of God whose members greatly supported her. She was active in her neighborhood and enjoyed her weekly ladies night with a small group of close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis G "Bud" Assenmacher, father Elton T. Cornelius, mother Cledah Zell Cornelius, brothers Ronnie and Kendall Cornelius, sister-in-laws Jeanette Cornelius and Lisa Tinik.

She is survived by daughter Kayla Swanzy and her husband Billy Mack of Tuscola; Son, Michael Assenmacher of Abilene; Grandson, Tallen Swanzy and wife Taylor; granddaughters, Mackenzie Swanzy and Tamara Assenmacher,;sister, Myrna Wright and husband J.R.; sister-in-laws, Joy Cornelius & Sharon Davis; brother-in-laws, Ken Davis and Michael Tinik.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to North Park Assembly of God Building Fund, 1918 Jameson St, Abilene, Texas 79603.
