The deceased was an ardent member of the Slatington band, but of late years could not play with the organization on account of ill health. He was one of the organizers of the band and took a great interest in its affairs up to the time of his death. He was also an enthusiastic member of the Knights of Pythias and the Jr. O.U.A.M., Star Council No. 68, of Slatington. He was a member of St. John's Reformed church, of Slatington. He had a large interest in the Bachman Bros. Slate Company, which has one of the most up-to-date factories in the slate region.
It was his wish that the Slatington band turn out in full at his funeral, and it is asked that the past and present members pay their last tribute to the deceased. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the house only, with further services in Union cemetery, Rev. James O. Oswald officiating. Relatives, friends and neighbors are cordially invited to attend the funeral.
