Conte, 22, of Mogadore, Ohio; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, serving as a hospital corpsman in Iraq under the command of I Marine Expeditionary Force (forward); died Feb. 1 while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq.
He is survived by one brother, Michael and wife, Shana, and their children, Tristan, Cassandra and Christopher; one sister, Lora Conte and her son, Ethan; grandparents, Grace 'Dee Dee' Conte of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Elkins, and Eileen and John Manz of Port St. Lucy, Fla.; and aunts and uncles, Grace 'Kitty' Smith and husband, Gene, of Alpena, Conna and Bill Leary, Jackie Hymes, George and Olive Conte and Dianna and Jerry Wise, formerly of Elkins.
