OBITUARIES
Glenn R. Boyd
Funeral services for Glen R. Boyd, 65, were Saturday at Waggener & Campbell Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Patterson, pastor of the Epworth Methodist Church of Kalispell officiating.
Burial was in Conrad Memorial Cemetery with veterans holding graveside military rites. Pallbearers were Walter Boberg, Edward A. Bronniak, Eugene B. Foot, Dick Knowles, Earl Scovel and Harry Koch.
Glen R. Boyd was born Dec. 18, 1892, in Lincoln City, Ind. He came to the Flathead in 1907 with his parents, Logan and Emma Boyd, and soon after moved with them to Galata where they homesteaded. In 1914, Mr. Boyd returned to the Flathead and was employed by the Somers Lumber Co. He later moved to the coast where he worked for the railroad until he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1917.
Following his discharge in 1919, Mr. Boyd returned to Somers. On Oct. 30, 1920, he married Miss Inez Hartman. In 1929 they moved to Kalispell and Mr. Boyd was engaged in the operation of a blacksmith and welding shop until being employed by the Kalispell Mercantile Co. as a welding salesman.
After an illness of about two months, Mr. Boyd died at his home at 233 Second Ave. East, Kalispell, Jan. 15.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his wife, Inez, at the family home in Kalispell; two sons, Roger of Kalispell and Robert of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Hartman of Libby, and two grandchildren.
