Martha Ellen Graham Grooms was born March 18, 1947 and was a lifelong Indiana resident. Raised in Lizton, she was named Miss Union Township and Miss Hendricks County 1964, and graduated from Lizton High School, Class of 1965, as the class valedictorian. She attended Butler University and Indiana University Southeast. Martha moved to southern Indiana in 1969 and lived in Jeffersonville and New Albany for over 40 years before moving to Noblesville. A recipient of The Sagamore of the Wabash award and Realtor of the Year by the Southern Indiana Board of Realtors in 1988, her past community involvement also included Alpha Epsilon chapter of Psi Iota Xi sorority, Indiana Chamber of Commerce, Sunnyside Toastmasters, Order of Eastern Star New Albany chapter, St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Republican Precinct Committeeperson. She worked as a realtor in Southern Indiana and also in the Floyd County Assessors office.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Oral Graham and Gladys May Garland Campbell and sister Marlene Olds. Survivors include aunts Edna Bailey and Marie Haffner; uncle Floyd Garland (Loretta); sisters Marge Roser (Bob), Mary McMurray (Bob), Marilyn Sharp; brothers David Graham (Michelle) and Charles Graham; her significant other Darrell E. Nash; daughters Marcia E. Grooms Taylor (Jim Lemon) and Melissa E. Lee (Mickey); grandchildren Bryan Boeshe Taylor, Maggie and Mason Lee; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Her body was donated to Indiana University School of Medicine. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Foundation, 8402 Harcourt Road, #210, Indianapolis IN 46260. Memorial service to be held Thursday, March 23, 11 a.m. St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, 600 N. Washington, Danville IN 46122.
