Virginia Allen Widdison
June 13, 1923 ~ September 7, 2014

Virginia Allen Widdison passed away on Sunday September 7, 2014 at home. She was born in Salt Lake City to Fred R. and Florence Allen on June 13, 1923.

After attending one year of school in Salt Lake the family moved to Ogden where Virginia attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1941. She continued her education at LDS Hospital and University of Utah.

She moved to Hooper in 1943 and there she met Don G. Widdison and they married in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on Feburary 7, 1945.

She has been involved in community activities serving in the Weber County Planning Commission, the County Council on Aging for nine years, the Hooper City Board of Adjustments and as President of the Roy High School PTA.

Virginia also served in many capacities in the LDS Church including as president of the Relief Society, Primary, and as Stake Dance Director with her husband.

When she was in her sixties she pursued a life long dream of painting. Her water colors have won awards and brought joy to many of her family and friends.

She is survived by husband Don Widdison, Ginnie and Daryl Duffin, Laura Sawyer, Barbara and David Johnson, Jeff and Laurel Widdison, Sue and Doug King, Kim and Ben Shaffer, 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her brothers Joe and Fred Allen, grand daughter Sarah King and son-in-law Dan Sawyer.

Funeral services will be on Thursday September 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the LDS chapel 5000 S. 5900 W. Hooper, Utah with a visitation the evening prior on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the church and Thursday at 9-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Hooper Cemetery.
