Biographical Information:

Genevieve was the youngest of six known children born to Cecilia Eugenia Hernandez and Adolfo L. Carrillo de Albornoz. Her father, born 14 Mar. 1841 in Havana, was the son of Francisca Hernandez y Aloy and José Manuel Carrillo de Albornoz y Arango (born 1810 in Havana). Adolfo's paternal grandparents were Manuela Arango y Nuñez del Castillo and José Manuel Carrillo de Albornoz y Arenales (born 19 Jan. 1772 in Havana). Genevieve's maternal grandparents were Margaret Cecilia Harrison Hernandez and Carlos Fabian Hernandez.

The 1920 U.S. Census recorded Nina (Rosa) as Head, age 58 with sister, Geneive, age 42. 'Uncle Charlie' Hernandez, an artist, age 60, was also still living with his nieces. He was actually over 70! Genevieve enjoyed crabbing for blue crabs in the Hudson River.

Obituary of Genevieve Carrillo, sister of the late Mrs. George A. Leitner:
A funeral mass was held at St. John's in Piermont on November 15th at 10 A.M. Arrangements were made by Stephenson's Funeral Parlor, interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Genevieve was survived by her brother Arthur, her nephew, Charles Bertrand Leitner, and her nieces, Mrs. Howard (Cecelia) Hanks and Mrs. Francis M. (Betty) McGoldrick.

Following the payment of outstanding debt, Genevieve's estate was not in excess of $2,500 personal and $5,000 real property, which was to be distributed as follows:
$100 to brother, Arthur;

Her grandmother's picture (Ed.: Margaret Harrison Hernandez* or Francisca Hernandez y Aloy), a silver fruit basket and flat silver to Cecelia Hanks;

A silver set and gravy bowl to Josephine Leitner (Ed.: Josepha);
A diamond ring with ruby to Natalie Wood (Ed.: granddaughter of Francisca Hernandez Fontaine);
An amethyst pin that belonged to her mother to Grace Stevenson;
China, glassware and a music stand to Ruth Dennehy;
A wine cruet to Anna Quackenbos;
Her grandmother's picture (Margaret Harrison Hernandez*) to Tess Jardines (granddaughter of Margaret's sister);

The graves of siblings, Agnes Cecilia, died June (6th?) 1878, and Rose (aka Rosita) Natalie have yet to be located.
