JACKSON, Homer, age 96, of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of Middletown, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1920 in Naphor, Kentucky. He served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II as a Corporal. Homer was employed as a crane operator at Armco/AK Steel, retiring after 31 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Dorothy McIntosh Jackson; his wife, Serena Campbell Jackson on August 11, 2005; two sons, Bentley Jackson and Don Jackson; his daughter, Judy Staples; and four brothers. He is survived by five children: John (Linda) Jackson, James (Diana) Jackson, Danny (Cartie) Jackson, Delores (Joe) Hollander and Joyce (Richard) Chesnut; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Doyle Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 12:00 noon with James Chesnut officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio with Military Honors.
