Mrs. Ruth LaVonne (Lechner) Blake of Freeport, Florida, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the age of 87. She was born June 26, 1929, in Fairhope, Alabama, to Edward and Martha Lechner. She was married to John Everett Blake, Sr., for over 65 years at his passing in 2013. She was a member of Portland United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and the friendships she shared throughout her life.
Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by her husband, John and her son, John Everett Blake, Jr.
Mrs. Blake is survived by one son, one daughter, seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 11:00am, Monday, March 20, 2017, at Portland United Methodist Church, 130 Church Street, Freeport, Florida.
Visitation: Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10:00am.
Interment: at Hatcher Cemetery in Freeport.
