Fairview – Norman Lester Mason, 77, of Fairview, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010. A native of Athens, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ernest Lester Mason and Clara Morton Martin. He served our country in the Medical Corp in the U.S. Army. He was also a contractor for many years. Norman was a founding member of the Fairview Seventh Day Adventist Church and served for many years.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Wilma Kennedy Mason; daughter, Lesa Mason-Wilkins (Mack) of Asheville; sisters, Eva Smith, Geneva Curtis, Alma Benedict; half-brothers, Edward and Ernest Mason; half-sisters, Carolyn Greene and Wanda Mason; grandchildren, Jody Mason Gipson (Amber), Leanne Rose Brackett (Robbie), and Charles Joseph Mason; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ashley and Kayla Paige; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Fairview Seventh Day Adventist Church. Pastor Ed Couser and Pasto Don Eckenrofth will be officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

He was an extremely loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all.
