Eugene Terry, age 73, died May 17, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born June 16, 1928 in Moulton, Alabama to Ralph and Della (Waltrop) Terry.
Eugene had lived in Fernley for 17 years moving there from Las Vegas. The family had lived in Hawthorne, Nevada since 1949. He had been employed at the El Capitan and worked as the General Manager for 15 years. They had moved to Las Vegas in 1982 and then to Fernley in 1985. He was employed as a Shift Games Manager for Fitzgeralds Casino and Hotel in Reno for the last 17 years.
Eugene had served in the US Marine Corp.
Surviving are: Wife of 52 years Lucille Terry; sons, Phillip and David Terry all of Fernley; daughter Linda Plummer of Fallon; brother Marlo Terry; sisters Hilda Witte and Marie Freeman- Linares of Baltimore, Maryland; grandchildren, Wayne, Wendy, Michelle, Phillip, Robert, Mary , Patrick; great grandchildren Myles, Chelsea, and Sophie.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 21 at 1:00pm at The Gardens Chapel, Fallon, Nevada. Visitation is 1 hour prior to service. Interment at Desert Memorial Gardens in Fernley. A gathering for family and friends will be held at The Truck Inn following Graveside Service.
