Services will be at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dale Moreland, of the Church at Quail Creek officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, Texas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Minnie was born November 22, 1927, in Floydada, Texas, to Esther and Harry Matthew Haynes. She graduated from Abilene High School and attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, where she met and married Erving Clark on August 15, 1946. They made their home in Plainview where they raised their four children. The last two years years of her life, Minnie was a resident of Craig Retirement Community in Amarillo, Texas.
After her children were all in school, she attended and graduated from nursing school and worked as a nurse specializing in Alzheimer’s care for the next 25 years.
She was well known for making her Christmas candy for friends and family. Minnie was a long-time member of Parkview Baptist Church, and later, Seth Ward Baptist Church.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Erving Clark, two grandchildren, Andria Paige Clary and Randy Clark Keller, and a son-in-law, Leslie Caldwell Clary.
Survivors include four children, Carol Keller and husband Don, Vicki Clary, Don Clark and wife Yvonne, and Matthew Wayne Clark, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Bobbie Short of Lubbock.
