FLORENCE – Louise Purvis “Bee” Davidson died on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at the McLeod Hospice House.

Mrs. Davidson was born on December 31, 1928, to Roland Rhett and Alice Benton Purvis. She was raised in the Elim Community of Florence County, and graduated from Elim High School and Wingate College. She was married to Harry A. Davidson. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before his death in 2008.

She retired after 25 years of service with Florence School District 1. Mrs. Davidson was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was active in other church activities.

Mrs. Davidson had a large family and many friends who loved her dearly and will cherish her memory.

Mrs. Davidson is survived by her three children, Rhett Davidson (Debbie), Rhonda Hutchinson (Len), and Rita Wimberly (Edward), six grandchildren, Loralea Davidson Wright (Brian), Matthew Davidson (Krissy), Jenna Hutchinson Jordan, Brant Hutchinson (Kristi), Caleb Wimberly and Brinnan Wimberly; and ten great-grandchildren, Kaylea, Brianna, Emma, Luke, Brooke, Ben, Ella, Anna Belle, Charlotte, and Camden. She is also survived by a sister, Juliaette Campbell.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Purvis, and a baby sister, Freida Purvis.

Funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church with visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or McLeod Hospice, who treated her like a part of their family.
