Obituary from The Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) - Tuesday, June 1, 1999:
Kindness Isabelle Wright Kirkham, 86, was reunited with her Heavenly Father and her beloved Keith on May 31, 1999. She passed away of natural causes in her home.
She was born November 27, 1912, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elmer and Elizabeth Wright. Married November 20, 1941, she was sealed to her eternal companion, Keith S. Kirkham, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Isabelle's most loved possessions were her relationships with her husband, Keith, children and grandchildren. She held many church positions and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Isabelle and Keith had many life-long, dear friends. She was a respected executive secretary of the Southeast Furniture Company for many years. She graduated from Granite High School and the University of Utah. She was very gifted in playing the piano by ear and was generous with her talents. She was an excellent seamstress as well as masterful with her needlework and cooking. Even though she claimed to not like her first name, Kindness, she exemplified it in every thought and deed. She will be greatly missed.
She was the loving mother of four children: Dr. Keith A. Kirkham (Janet), Bountiful; Karen Carlson (Louis), Tokyo, Japan; Kristine Stewart (Jerry), West Jordan; Kent S. Kirkham (Christine), Holladay; 20 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Jennie Ericksen, Salt Lake City; Ruth Faust (James E.), Salt Lake City; Sherman Wright (Carol), Redmond, Oregon; Owen Wright (Irene), Island Park, Idaho.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Beverly Atkinson for her tender loving care in making it possible for Mom to stay in her home during her failing years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 2, 12 noon, at the Parley's 4th Ward, 1870 East Parley's Canyon Blvd (2315 South). Friends and family may call Wednesday from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah.
