Mrs. Ida Westcott, wife of Dell Wescott, of 40 South Avenue passed away at the family home at 12:45 this morning. Death was due to cancer. She was operated on twelve weeks ago but gradually grew worse until the end.
The deceased was born May 11th, 1865, near Sedalia, Missouri. Her maiden name was Ida Harrison. She was married twenty-six years ago to J.T. Cowden, who died a few years later. Eighteen years ago, she married Dell Wescott. They moved to Freeport several years ago.
She is survived by her husband; three children, Clyde and Floyd Wescott of this city and Earl Cowden, of Fairview, Ill.; one brother Edward Harrison of Coon Rapids, Iowa and a sister, Mrs. Emma Gahlord of Rockland, Wis.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon. A short service will be conducted at the Moore undertaking parlors at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 at the Embury Church. The Rev. W.H. Pierce will officiate. Interment will be made in the city cemetery. Friends may see the remains at the Moore Parlors.
