Joann will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for sense of humor and her extreme generosity towards everyone.
She was born December 21, 1935 in Youngstown, the daughter of Dominic and Thekla (Coury) Nakley and was a lifelong area resident.
Joann was employed for over 33 years at General Electric Company in quality control along with assembly and retired on October 1, 1991.
She was a longtime member of St. Maron Church, its Over 55 Club and the St. Tobias Society. Joann was also an active supporter and participant at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon.
Joann had many passions throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing, doing crossword puzzles, going to casinos and was an excellent cook. Joann also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, but her greatest moments were spending time with family especially her nieces and nephews.
Joann leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories her beloved brother, Thomas Nakley of Maryland, a sister, Betty Roccanova of New York and many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews along with many friends.
Besides her parents, Joann was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Nakley and six sisters, Ann Nakley, Catherine Nakley, Margaret Menaldi, Helen Tombo, Beatrice Cunning and Florence Wansack.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., where the Prayers of Incense Prayer Service will take place at 6:30 p.m., friends and family may also pay respects on Tuesday morning, March 21, 2017 from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd. in Youngstown.
Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
