Albert farmed 160 acres that he owned in section 15 Durham Township and also 160 acres in section 9 that was deeded to his wife, Mary Byler-Urban by her father David Byler.

In 1900, Albert, along with Newt Byler, Jeff Scott, Henry Clark, formed the Durham Telephone Company.

In 1903 he was the township assesor.

By 1910, Albert's family had moved from the Mary Urban farm to Dallas City where, along with his occupation as a farmer, he owned and operated a men's clothing store for a time.

Albert farmed 160 acres that he owned in section 15 Durham Township and also 160 acres in section 9 that was deeded to his wife, Mary Byler-Urban by her father David Byler.
