Blythe Henry Ober was born on 31 March 1849 in Tremont, Maine, the son of William Ober (1822-1893) and Caroline B. Ober (1828-1856). He was married to Lucy Mary Lowe (1849-1928) about 1873. They had four sons and three daughters. He worked as a steam heating contractor and ran a plumbing shop in Duluth, MN for many years. He was widowed in 1928. He died on 16 November 1937 in Duluth, MN at the age of 88. He was interred at Forest Hill Cemetery.
