Barbara Duggins Shelton, 76, of Norris, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born Dec. 28, 1928, in Kewanee, Ill., she was the daughter of Joseph W. and Alma Ruth Duggins.

She was a member of Norris Religious Fellowship Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Duggins, and a special friend, Arnette Crabtree.

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her daughters, Joan Hughes and husband, Hugo (Kelly), of Powell, and Terry Shelton and special friend, Joel Brindley, of Norris; a daughter-in-law, Mary Shelton of Norris; her grandchildren, Ryan Shelton and wife, Lainey, of Norris, Glenn Shelton and wife, Ruth, of Knoxville, Emily Young and husband, Randall, of Cookeville, Katy Hughes and Joe Hughes, both of Norris; great-grandchildren, Sophie Shelton and Paul Shelton, both of Norris, and Ambrose Shelton of Knoxville. She is also survived by brother, Dick Duggins and wife, Sandy, of Ferndale, Mich.; a sister, Mary Kay Jennings and husband, Bill, of Brevard, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Mary Kay Duggins of Norris; a son, Mike Shelton of San Jose, Calif.; and by several nieces and nephews

She is also survived by brother, Dick Duggins and wife, Sandy, of Ferndale, Mich.; a sister, Mary Kay Jennings and husband, Bill, of Brevard, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Mary Kay Duggins of Norris; a son, Mike Shelton of San Jose, Calif.; and by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Norris Religious Fellowship Church with Rev. Keith Haverkamp officiating.

The family requested that any memorials be in the form of donations to Norris Religious Fellowship Church, 23
Dogwood Road, Norris TN 37754.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.

Her husband was Samuel Howard Duggins who she married in 1948. They had no children together. He is buried in Santa Anna Cemetery, Coleman County, Texas.
