Clifford was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ. He was a volunteer fireman in Bippus for 33 years and coached little league for 25 years. He was united in marriage to Jean M. Wood on October 17, 1942 in Huntington. Jean preceded him in death on June 18, 2002. He later married Evelyn Greer in 2003 at the Servia United Church of Christ. Evelyn preceded him in death in 2018.
