Jack R. Johnston, age 80, of Second Street in Geneseo, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen, children, Beth (Kevin) McKee of Farmington, Marshall Johnston of NC, grandchildren, Kelly (Eric) Kubiak, Sean and Casey McKee, great grandchildren, Brynn McKee, Teddy and Vaughn Kubiak.

Jack was born May 29, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Lyle and Gertrude Haack Johnston. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. Jack earned his Bachelors' Degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and his Master's Degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. He was employed as the Director of Performing Arts at SUNY Geneseo until his retirement. Jack was an active and longtime member of Geneseo Community Players.

No prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Temple Hill Cemetery in Geneseo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SUNY Geneseo Music Department, Erwin 202, Geneseo, NY 14454 or the Geneseo Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 428, Geneseo, NY 14454.
