Robert “Bob” Whyte Edge, 70, passed away on March 12, 2017 in Elizabethtown.
Bob was raised in Downingtown, the son of Jacob Valentine Edge and Ann Whyte Edge, Bob lived most of his life in Chester County.
He attended high school at Westtown School (’64) and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (’68). Bob took great pride in spending his career running the family business, Edge Wallboard Machinery Corporation.
He was an active member of Rotary Club of Coatesville and led several related organizations and was also a Board Member and former President of Handi-Crafters and a member of Brandywine-Goddard Lodge No. 383 F&AM.
Bob loved visiting his home in Winter Harbor, Maine. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, was an avid skier and an enthusiastic wine collector.
He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Patricia Cosgriff Edge; his son, Timothy Robert Edge; his daughter, Cynthia Edge Lewis; his 3 grandchildren, Henry Edge Lewis, Nicholas Valentine Edge and Wyatt Mead Edge; and his 3 sisters, Downy Edge Koch, Caroline Edge Beideman, and Sarah Elizabeth Edge. His brothers, Jacob Edge II, and Thomas Valentine Edge predeceased him.
Bob’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 11:00am at St. James Episcopal Church, 409 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Visitation will begin at 9:30am.
