Russell Lane Perry was born December 16, 1940 in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Vernon Dahle Perry and Margaret Charlotte Lauder.

He passed away Tuesday March 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Russ was raised in La Crescenta, CA where he graduated from Glendale High School in 1958. He joined the United States Air Force immediately after graduation where he served faithfully for 21 years. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Weber State University.

He married the love of his life, Joan Stuart, in July of 1963 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They are blessed with four wonderful sons and a beautiful daughter.

Russ was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in many ward and stake callings, including temple ordinance worker and on a Family History Mission. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and especially his extraordinary Family Home Evening group.

Russ is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan, and their children, Matthew (Patricia) Perry, Mark (Lisa) Perry, Daniel (Jenika) Perry, Adam (Heidi) Perry and Sarah (Dave) Randall, his sister Janet (Donnell) Leavitt, 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Orland Perry, and two sisters, Coleen Whitman and MarCiele McCoy.

We would like to give special thanks to the amazing nurses at Hearts for Hospice Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Roy 12th Ward, 4524 South 2525 West, Roy, Utah. The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
