Gerald Lee Peters, 80, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died December 12, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice Legacy Village. He was born November 30, 1936 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Joseph and Bessie Peters.

Gerald served in the Army 11th Airborne, the 12th Special Forces and in the 145th Reserves, retiring in 1991. He loved his family, the military and especially his dog –Miss Poody.

Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joann Burch and Joyce Shearhart.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Judith Peters of the home; son, Scott Peters and his wife Susan of Nowata, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Anglin of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a brother-in-law, Bill Felber and his wife Phyllis of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 16th at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas. Burial will be at a later time at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
