Marshall L. Young, age 35, of Firth, Nebraska, peacefully passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home after fighting a years long battle with cancer. He fought the good fight, always keeping an optimistic outlook on life. He was born October 7, 1981 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Vance and Sherri (Vietz) Young.
Marshall graduated from Norris High School with the class of 2000 and later attended Southeast Community College. Marshall married Andrea Schack on September 8, 2012 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the owner/operator of Young Trucking and Grading.
Marshall enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family, working on restoring projects in his garage and helping others. He will be remembered by all as the one who would take the shirt off his back to help a friend in need.
Marshall is survived by: his wife, Andrea Young; son, Canyon Young; daughter, Macy Young; mother and step-father, Sherri and Steve Weiss; father and step-mother, Vance and Rebecca Young; sisters, Jamie (Derick) Noonan, and Nasya Young; brother, Hanan Young; step-sisters, Serena (Scott) Brauckmuller and Stephanie Hassler; step-brother, Seth (Kelcy) Weiss; grandmother, Marcia Young; grandfather, Donald Vietz; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by: grandmother, Shirley Vietz; grandfather, Keith Young; and step grandmother, Betty Vietz.
Memorial service on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Elevate Church, Lincoln. Burial at Fairview Cemetery in Lincoln.
