We first find Lemernil 14 years old on the 1930 Houston County Census living with her family:
Chas Adler Head M 47 Texas
Willie Adler Wife F 36 Texas
Novel Adler Son M 18 Texas
Noy Adler Son M 16 Texas
Lemernil Adler Daughter F 14 Texas
Will Ferguson Adler Son M 3 Texas
Charlie Byers Stepson M 16 Texas
Odell Byers Stepson M 14 Texas

We next find Lemernil on the 1940 Trinity County Census, widowed living with her son:
Lemma Nile Douglas Head F 25 Texas
Jake Douglas Son M 9 Texas

Memories from Susan,a niece:

According to her death certificate Lemma Nile was buried at the Douglas Cemetery. I have no idea why it doesn't show in any of the records, or why there is not a headstone. I feel sure that mother went to the funeral so I will ask her about it and let you know. I do know that she died in Panola County, I think that is where her only granddaughter Denise lives. I will ask about that also. The spelling of her name is incorrect on the census record....she always signed everything Lemma Nile. I have also found that her name was listed as Lemerson on the birth certificate of Jake (her only child). I think that she was probably named after her mother's sister Lemma Kimbro Sparks, but have no way of verifying that. I would really appreciate it if you could change the spelling of her name to: Lemma Nile Adler Douglas.
