ARMA — Rodney S. Lloyd, 62, of Arma, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Lloyd was born July 12, 1951, at Pittsburg, Kan., the son of Fred Leonard and Wilma Lorene Culter Lloyd.
Rodney was a construction worker who lived in the Pittsburg area most of his life. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma High School in 1969.
He was a construction worker and driver for O’Brien Concrete.
He married Ethel Ann Swope on March 19, 1998, at Miami, Okla. Mrs. Lloyd preceded him in death Dec. 12, 2012.
Survivors include his mother, Wilma Lorene Lloyd, of Arma; three sisters, Lana (Harold) Brooks of Arma, Joyce Lloyd and Lori Lloyd, both of Arma; three step-daughters, Michelle Hughes of Parsons, Kimberly Stevens of Pittsburg, and Melanie Tyler of Mindenmines, Mo.; a step-son, Frank Rooks of Pittsburg; 15 step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Leonard Lloyd in 2005.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Jim Sukraw officiating.
Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Bedene Chapel.
The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
