HOLD FINAL RITES FOR
PIONEER, MILDRED E. ADAMS

Last rites for Mildred E. Adams, pioneer Kalispell resident, were held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Waggener and Campbell chapel. Dr. Mervyn E. Moss of the First Presbyterian church conducted the services and the two beautiful hymns were sung by Bill Carr with accompaniment at the organ by Mrs. J. M. Carlson.
Members of Lake Lodge No. 50, IOOF, who were selected to serve as pall bearers included A. J. Jeffries, Sr., Frank Hazelton, Alfred Evenson, George E. Thomas, A. B. Yuill, and Fred Semuf. Interment was made in the Conrad Memorial cemetery.

BORN IN WISCONSIN
Mildred E. Curtiss was born in Clear Lake, Wisconsin on March 28, 1878 to David A. and Lucy Curtiss. When she was 14 years of age she moved with her parents to Amery, Wisconsin and there on March 26, 1902 was united in marriage to Bert Adams of Amery. In 1907 they came to Kalispell to make their home and have since resided here.
Mrs. Adams died at her home at 636 Third Avenue west in Kalispell on March 30, 1949 at the age of 71 years. Surviving her are her husband, Bert; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Zachary of San Anselmo, California, and Mrs. Howard Loveless of Kila, Montana; one son, Roy Adams of Vancouver, Washington; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. R. C. Redeker of Polson, Mont., and Mrs. C. L. Leadholm of Amery, Wisconsin; two brothers, Lyle L. Curtiss of Virginia City, Minn., and Eugene Curtiss of Superior, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Women's Benefit association, the Royal Neighbors of American, the Crescent Rebekah lodge and the Womens Relief corps.
