OBITUARY: The Morning Press, Bloomsburg, PA, Mon., Sept. 27, 1965
Claude Kurtz, eighty, Butternut street, Berwick, died Saturday afternoon at one o'clock in the Berwick Hospital where he was a patient for a month. He had been ill several months.
Kurtz was born and resided his entire lifetime in Berwick. In his younger days he was associated with the Jennings-Kurtz Momument Co. and later with the A.C.F. Safety Department, retiring in 1950. Mr. and Mrs. Kurtz were married 49 years.
He was a member of the First Methodist church and Knapp Lodge 462 F and AM and a charter member of the Ranger Hose Company.
Surviving are his widow, the former Julia Wolfe, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Salnchick, West Chester; a son Claude Kurtz, Allentown; two sisters, Mrs. R.C. Welliver and Mrs. A.D. Fetterman Sr. both of Berwick; a grandson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two from the Kelchner Funeral Home with Rev. Roy O. Botdorf, First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Market Street.
