Herschel D. Dorsett (Age 83) Entered into rest on January 24, 2007. He was born on February 28, 1923 to parents Herschel and Pearl Dorsett in Otisco, Indiana. Herschel has been a resident of Deer Park for the past 29 years. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1969 as a Sergeant Major E-9. Herschel served his country in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, and he was awarded the Bronze Star. He enjoyed both carpentry and woodworking. Herschel is survived by his son, Gary Dorsett of Deer Park; daughters, Cathy (Dave) Gay and Debbie (John) Ryan of Deer Park, and Kim (Jeff) Cassil of Wildemar, CA; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His wife, Shirley, preceded him in death in 2005. Visitation will be from 8-5 PM on Monday, January 29th at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA. Rosary will be Monday, January 29 7:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1104 W. Heroy, Spokane, WA. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at St. Francis of Assisi. Interment with Military honors will be at Holy Cross Cemetery following the service.
