MILO - Graveside services for Doris Olean Roope Towler, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at the Milo Cemetery.
Born on Feb. 28, 1936, in Texas to Frank and Ethel Stidham Roope, she died on Jan. 8, 2006, in an Oklahoma City hospital. She and Loyl Ray ÒJackÓ Towler Sr. were married on Jan. 28, 1953, in Yuma, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 13, 1989; a son, her parents, a brother, sister and grandson.
Mrs. Towler had been a resident of Ardmore since 1973, moving here from Rockport, Texas. She was a an ordained minister, a homemaker and member of Southeast Church of God.
Survivors include sons, Loyl Ray Towler Jr., of the home, Samuel Towler, Ardmore, Ronald Towler, Milo, and Richard Towler, Healdton; daughters, Angela Towler, Milo, Denise Wilson, Milo, and Wanda Henson, Ardmore; two sisters; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Wanda Henderson, Ronald Towler, Richard Towler, Cory Henson, Chris Wilson, Randall Crowder, Jason Yow and Larry Latimer.
