Robert William “R.W.” Youngblood, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Crossview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary.

Mr. Youngblood was born April 29, 1934 to the late Bertie Lee Youngblood Williams. He worked as a butcher at the Colonial Store and as a carpenter with Jerry Harper and Bill Ferris. Mr. Youngblood was also a security guard at Lowell Packing Company in Fitzgerald and Golden Poultry in Douglas. He also worked with Triangle Pools in construction. He was member of Crossview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children and their spouses: Bob & Linda Youngblood of Fitzgerald, Shirley & David Watson of Fitzgerald, Tony & Samantha Youngblood of Fitzgerald, Tammy McLeod & Keith Herlong of Douglas, and Chris & Laura Youngblood of Covington; a daughter-in-law, Kim Roberts Youngblood of Tifton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Tiny Ruth Giddens of Fitzgerald and Charlotte & Jerry Tanner of Marietta. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Moss Youngblood and a son, Jeff Youngblood.
