Gary Clyde Dunlap
Gary Clyde Dunlap, age 84, of Lula passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Tarpon Springs, Florida after a brief illness.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Pastor Don Jehle, Pastor Dale Tunell and Pastor Jason Dunkel will officiate. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Mr. Dunlap was born January 28, 1933 to the late Gary Samuel and Emma Marie Dunlap in Atlanta. He and his wife, Polly, were active members at Gainesville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He never made a fortune, or a noise in the world seeking after fame, but had a healthy brood of girls and boys, who loved the very ground of which he came. They thought him just little short of God. Oh you should have heard the way his children said his name (Pop) at his bedside, as he fell asleep at peace, in the arms of Jesus.
Mr. Dunlap is survived by his second wife, whom he loved dearly, Polly Dunlap; his children, who he loved so much, Cindy and John Barsa, Greg Dunlap, Barry and Shirley Dunlap, and Marie and Thomas Stewart; 12 grandchildren, Shane, Heather, Eric, Jason, Amber, Chase, Jacqueline, Erin, Josh, Joe, Dan, and Lilly; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of over 54 years and the mother of his 5 children, Janet Elise Wagoner Dunlap (Big Momma) and his oldest son, Stephen Dunlap.
