Services Here For Mrs. Bessie Ely
Bessie Calar [sic] Neal Ely, daughter of Charles and Mary Neal, was born Oct. 15, 1888 in Guthrie County, Iowa and departed this life on Oct. 2, 1953 in the Mehtodist [sic] Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa; age 64 years, 11 months and 17 days.
In 1908 she was united in marriage to Roy Ely and to this union was born 6 children all of whom are living. She has lived her entire life in Guthrie County.
She was a member of the Church of Christ here in Guthrie Center.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Roy, 3 sons; Everett of Guthrie Center, Earnest of Minneapolis, Minn. and Robert of Des Moines; 3 daughters, Mrs. Frank Campbell, Mrs. Erma Shroyer and Mrs. Marshall Wine all of Guthrie Center. Two brothers Emmett Neal of San Francisco and Harry Neal of Mt. Morris, Ill. also 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a home loving mother, nobly doing her part in rearing and keeping a family together.
C.A. Abbott, minister of the Church of Christ, was in charge of services.
Internment was in Union cemetery.
